Awning poles coming loose
3 weeks into the boat's first season and one of the foredeck awning poles (starboard side aft) base already came loose. We have quickly checked the other ones and noticed that their bases have started to move as well. Princes has been informed.

Dents and scratches on Hull surface
When we launched the dinghy during our seatrial, we had the opportunity to inspect the hull surface and at that time we noticed a few dents and scratches, one of them being quite long and deep. The side and level of the scratch matched the height of the pontoon that our boat was moored in Plymouth. One of the dents was caused by the anchor hitting the bow GRP section as no sacrificial protection was put in place to prevent such incidents.

Water Leak from Fridge
The boat has been fitted with a secondary refrigerator on sideboard, opposite side of Galley.
We have noticed a few times that the entrance parquet floor was wet. We thought we did not fully shut the fridge door, and that the ice on cooling plate melted and caused the water to leak. We emptied the fridge, fully shut its door and continued to monitor the situation. We still observed a leak. When we further investigated the issue, we noticed that the door opening direction of the fridge has been flipped by Princess to suit the cabinet door. This apparently caused door alignment and sealing issues.

Faulty/Poorly installed LED Stripes
We asked Princess to install LED stripes in a few spots (an 3600 EUR option). We have indicated in writing all details including density and color Kelvin value to be used. Unfortunately not only these details were ignored, the installation had also issues.

Missing Main Helm Navigation Lights
On the main helm switch panel, we have noticed that a light switch was fitted (seen in picture) but it was not turning on/off anything. We have asked Princess what that switch was for. They have replied saying that it was supposed to switch on the Red LEDs for night navigation but that apparently the lights were not fitted.Status: Pending since 02May18

Master Cabin Shower Problems
When we entered the Master Cabin shower, we noticed that the mixer handle was detached from the mixer itself and laying next to it. Apparently their "Pre Delivery Inspection" person missed this.
Status: Fixed in 6 days
After the handle has been fixed, we noticed that its motion was very limited (ie 1/8 of full circle). We then found out that only cold water was coming out of the shower head even though the mixer was in hot position. A little more investigation revealed that the mixer was equipped with an anti-scald mechanism and that it has not been properly adjusted during installation. We had to take the mixer apart and readjust the anti-scald setting to fix the issue.
Status: Fixed by owner crew

Hot Water Only from Transom Shower
Our inspection revealed that only hot water was coming out of the transom shower. After further investigation, we realized that the cold water pipe was never connected to the mixer.
Status: Fixed in 10 days
Only hot water side of the mixer was operational. When switched to cold side, no water was coming out of the shower. |
Cockpit privacy screen produced in wrong dimensions
A cockpit privacy screen has been ordered (an 1200 EUR option). Normally the privacy screen should have been fastened to the handrail via straps so as to not block the handrail's functionality (useful to grab when crossing the transom), but this required new measurements to be taken. Instead, Princess sent the factory supplied winter cover as template, which is much longer than required and a little tricky to fasten. We have asked Princess to perform a modification. Roll up straps were ordered but not fitted too.Status: Pending since 10Jun18
Status Update: Fixed in 312 days
Cockpit privacy screen supplied is an exact copy of the aft winter cover |
The flag pole needs to be removed each time the privacy screen is rolled up or down. A tiny cut would have been sufficient to avoid this issue. |
Remote Controllers not working
It was not possible to control Saloon TV and Harman Kardon HiFi system via remotes. An Infrared repeater (ie Magic Eye) was fitted but not properly configured.Status: Fixed in 4 days

Windshield mesh screen not fitted
The boat comes in standard with a windshield cover from mesh material. We have also ordered the same windshield cover in white sunbrella material to be used in hot periods (a 2000 EUR option).
Prior to planned delivery, we have noticed that the black mesh screen was not properly fitted and that poppers were missing. As a result, the screen was hanging loose at the edges. Prior to delivery, both screens have not been checked by Princess whether they fitted properly or not.
Status: Fixed in 4 days
Due to poppers missing, both ends of the mesh screen were hanging loose. 4 poppers have been fitted. |
Sunbrella screen supplied in wrong dimensions
The sunbrella screen (an 2000 EUR option) has been supplied with wrong dimensions and did not fit on the existing popper bases. It took Princess 34 days to get the cover modified.
Status: Fixed in 34 days
White sunbrella cover was supplied in short dimensions causing poppers not to match bases. |
Damaged dinnerware
That's a good one...
A set of dinnerware have been ordered. The ordered set included below items and had a price tag of 1700 EUR. The order was placed on the 15th of January and paid in full.

During our Plymouth visit at the end of March, that is approximately 70 days after we've placed the order, the set was claimed to be onboard but never seen. Princess assured that the dinnerware will be delivered prior to handover.
Day of the handover came (2 May), still no dinnerware. It was at that time that we found out that it had never been ordered. Princess promised that they have placed the order now. 5 days later, we received items shown below.
17 weeks after our order, we have finally received something that we could touch and feel. The world's most expensive 1 place setting cutlery set! (1700 EUR) |
We have asked Princess if this was a joke and if so, kindly requested delivery of the remainder of our order. Princess promised to investigate the issue and got back to us within 6 days with apologies and another promise that this time the order was placed correctly. 16 days later, we received the full order, but this time with a considerable part damaged (mainly plates and cups).
Contents of 4 boxes with plates and cups were damaged. |
Princess has been informed about the damage and finally after 5 additional days, they were able to replace the broken items and finally close the case.
